Bio:

Dr. Aaron Dawson has made a lifestyle of investing in others. His background in education, ministry, corrections, and mental health has provided a variety of experiences and interactions from which he has learned many practical lessons. Born and raised in a pastor’s family on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Aaron was taught early the importance of heeding the call of Scripture to love God and to love people. Graduating from Queenstown Christian Academy in 1998, Aaron moved to Texas for college where he met his wife, Kori. They married in 2001 and 2002 moved to Northern Alabama. Over the years, Aaron has served as a Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor, Principal, Minister of Music, and Senior Pastor. In 2012, Aaron began a career with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office as a Corrections Officer. He retired from the Sheriff’s Office in 2023 as the Warden of the Morgan County Correctional Facility. His time with the Sheriff’s Office further cemented in Aaron’s mind the need for Biblically sound and quality training and counseling. This is why Shadow Ridge Counseling, Consulting, and Training was formed. Aaron currently serves as the Pastor of Soul’s Harbor Freewill Baptist Church and Administrator of Vinemont Christian Academy where he, his wife, Kori, and their four sons worship and serve. He enjoys teaching, woodworking, farming, and writing, and is a self-proclaimed bibliophile.
